Young Friends General Meeting adopts two new concerns

Young Friends General Meeting (YFGM) has adopted two new concerns

These are in two areas: opposing the renewal of the UK’s nuclear weapons programme, Trident, and supporting mental wellbeing in the Meeting and beyond.

‘Opposing nuclear weapons, and in particular opposing the renewal of the Trident system, has been an issue of personal concern for many YFGM members for some time,’ YFGM coordinator Tim Rouse told the Friend

The concern around mental wellbeing will be carried forward by a working group, to be appointed at the next YFGM, in Norwich in February.  This concern affects many ‘YFGMers’ on a personal level, Tim said.

YFGM gathered in Nottingham over the weekend of 17 to 19 October.
