Work of leading peace studies scholar recognised
Paul Rogers to receive honorary degree
Paul Rogers, the global security consultant and professor of peace studies at the University of Bradford, has been awarded an honorary doctorate of laws from Leeds Beckett University for his outstanding contribution in his field.
Paul has worked in the area of international security, arms control and political violence for more than thirty years and lectures at universities and defence colleges around the world.
He has written and edited at least twenty-seven books. His new book Irregular War: ISIS and the New Threats from the Margins was published in July. He also writes a monthly briefing for the Oxford Research Group.
Paul complimented Leeds Beckett University for the reputation it had gained in recent years for peace sstudies and said: ‘I think it is going to be an incredibly important area to work in; over the next twenty to thirty years we as a world community need to make a transition to creating a more stable and sustainable planet.’
