Elaine Pryce tells us of her son’s work in Colombia and her concerns as a mother

When by chance, in a local library, I saw reports of the devastating floods and landslides around Medellin City, Colombia, South America, I had sound reason to panic. I have a son who lives there. The mind runs riot at such times, I discovered, and the heart lunges into a kind of whirlpool of dread.
