Wordless Knowing
'Wordless Knowing' by Joyce Gee
I am eighty-eight years old
And much has changed
In my inner and outer life
But what has not changed
Is that from a very early age
I sensed a wordless knowing
That I am a small evolving part
Of the Creative whole
Of Inner and outer existence
An existence born of the
Creative Source of all being
And that all parts of existence
Both outer and inner
Is interconnected
By a common inner awareness of
Wordless Knowing
As a small child I loved wandering
In fields of wild flowers, insects and bees
And little animals and distance trees
Sensing our interconnected
Wordless Knowing
Yet later, conscious of ‘I am’
Presented the challenge of
‘Who am I?’
Demanding words of explanation
That got detached from that early sense of
Wordless Knowing
Yet as my life continued
In various situations of cultural influence
On economics, political and community furtherance
An upon, political and community furtherance
And upon effect upon known and distant peoples
And ways of getting livelihood
My inner sense gave me insight
Where words have limitation
That needed inspired translation
From our common, interconnected sense of
Wordless Knowing
