Woodbrooke offers online and locally-based learning for rest of year

Woodbrooke has said that it will not offer residential learning at its Birmingham centre until 2021, at the earliest. In a statement issued on 8 June it said that it will only offer ‘online and locally-based learning for the rest of this year’.

‘We have not made this decision lightly and we know it will be upsetting to many of you who treasure visiting the Woodbrooke centre’, the statement says. ‘Our priority is always the safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff. We believe that there are still risks in the coming months, particularly to the vulnerable members of our community. We are mindful of the many people who travel to Woodbrooke using public transport.’

Making this decision now, it said, means the centre can more effectively plan its learning programme. However, once it is safe, it will reinvigorate its ‘Woodbrooke on the Road’ programme, including in other parts of Europe.
