Woodbrooke prepares anthology of memories

Woodbrooke trustees have opened an email address to collect stories from Friends, with the aim of creating an anthology of memories. The move follows the announcement that the building is to close as a Quaker centre, although Woodbrooke will continue online.

The trustees noted that the news marks the ‘end of an era’ for Woodbrooke. ‘Whilst there will be a new chapter for Woodbrooke Learning and Research as it continues and develops, for many of us physically being at the Woodbrooke Centre has been an important part of our spiritual development. Time spent at Woodbrooke, for whatever reason, has been significant and inspiring.’

To mark the building’s closure, members of the public are invited to send in stories and memories of the centre, extracts from which will be included in an anthology. ‘We would appreciate contributions by 1 June 2023, ideally as concise as you can manage.’ Submissions can be sent to being@woodbrooke.org.uk.
