Woking Friend wins peace prize
Keith Scott has been awarded the Wilson/Hinkes Peace Award
A Quaker community activist has been awarded the Wilson/Hinkes Peace Award for 2016 for his role in setting up and running a series of debates in Woking.
Keith Scott started the Woking Debates in 2013 to ‘provide a space where people could consider the issues involved in creating peace’.
The idea was supported by Woking People of Faith and Woking Friends. Subjects covered included: ‘Is war justified?’ ‘Should the UK replace Trident?’ and ‘Restorative justice – does it work?’
Keith received his award at an interfaith gathering of prayer and peace marking the end of the Week of Prayer for World Peace on Sunday 23 October in Westminster Meeting.
