Members of the Leeds Peace Link Group laid a white poppy wreath at the Leeds War Memorial in Victoria Gardens on Sunday 13 November.

Some red poppies were present among the white poppies as a mark of respect to those who had laid red poppy wreaths earlier in the day.

The wording in the centre of the wreath was: ‘Remember all victims of all wars. In our remembrance may we commit to resolving conflict without war.’

The councils of some towns in Britain have refused to permit the laying of white poppies alongside red poppies at war memorials. The Leeds Peace Link Group meets under council leadership seeking to support and coordinate peace initiatives taken by a variety of peace groups in Leeds.
