Jim Graham writes about a troubling dilemma

Two conflicting views about the use of force by an individual were reflected in the Friend in the edition of 11 December 2015. One, in an article, states the one hundred per cent pacifist position with complete confidence, but no apparent understanding of the difficulties faced by those who do find themselves with such a dilemma. In the same issue, a Friend with just that problem writes, in a letter, how he doubts whether he can call himself a Quaker knowing that he would shoot a terrorist, in order to stop him killing other people, if he had no other way of restraining him.
