Turrell success in London
Four works by James Turrell are on display at a leading London gallery
Four works by the artist James Turrell are on display at a leading London gallery until early April. The four frosted-glass screens, animated by sophisticated displays of LED lights, are one of the highlights of an exhibition at the Pace Gallery in central London.
James Turrell’s work draws upon nature, but also upon astronomy, physics, architecture and his Quaker background and faith.
The exhibits at the Pace Gallery have been described as ‘mesmerising’ and ‘exceptionally beautiful and thought provoking.’
One critic wrote that ‘experiencing one of Turrell’s works is an unforgettable experience’.
Between June and September 2013 the Guggenheim Museum in New York hosted a major exhibition of work by Turrell.
