Trustees give thumbs up to contributions and donations
News from Meeting for Sufferings
An influx of late donations and contributions has been a source of delight for trustees of Britain Yearly Meeting who had been fearful that income in 2009 would be much lower. The news came at an informal meeting between trustees and Meeting for Sufferings representatives. The late surge is partly traditional but was being attributed to efforts by Meeting for Sufferings representatives to make giving an issue of discussion in their Meetings rather than just report. Although the final figure of donations and contributions is likely to be a bit short on budget, it is expected to be way higher than the previous year’s amount.
