‘This Evil Thing’ on tour
A London Quaker is taking a play about WWI conscientious objectors on tour.

A play about conscientious objectors in world war one written by a London Friend is on tour this autumn.
The play is entitled This Evil Thing and was written by Michael Mears of Wandsworth Meeting.
It deals with ‘the men who said no to war’ and had its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016.
The tour will take in a variety of venues, including four Quaker schools (the Mount, Bootham, Ackworth and Leighton Park) and three Meeting houses. It will be performed in Ipswich Meeting on 3 November, in Huddersfield on 30 November and in Wandsworth a few days later.
The tour begins in Cardiff in late September and finishes in Cambridge in early December.
