That of God in everybody
Alice Harlan considers the opportunities for outreach in schools
A school is a remarkable place because all sections of the population are legally required to sit in one for about six hours each day and be talked to and, hopefully, with. All the groups of people with whom it is hard for us, as a Religious Society, to engage are there in school – or at least their children are. Not only are they there but they are being enjoined daily to learn, engage with new ideas, test theories and challenge assumptions. This never happens again, for many, once they leave school.
