Testimony, morality and aeroplanes
Linda Murgatroyd reflects on putting faith into action
What is testimony? It is to do with bearing witness to the truth: to truth that we have experienced, seen or heard directly. It may be spoken or written, as when we bear witness to specific events for legal purposes. Giving testimony is also what early Friends were doing when telling of their personal or shared spiritual experience, which did not need priestly mediation. Many of them were prepared to carry their witness in the face of great suffering and even to the point of death.
