Talking to one another

Rosie Bailey and Linda Murgatroyd reflect on the importance of communication

Communications matter. How we talk – and listen – to one another in our Meetings affects how well we can get to know one another in the Spirit, care for one another, build our community and carry out business in right ordering. So, we all need to pay attention to what is going on in our conversations, notices and Business Meetings, and elders and overseers have a special role in demonstrating and encouraging good communications.

At Yearly Meeting, Quaker Life organised a workshop on this theme, introduced by sketches written by Ingrid Greenhow and Penelope Putz (see below). People offered many suggestions about how to communicate better, including the following advices.
