Swarthmoor
'Swarthmoor' by Judith Line
This is where history speaks through the present,
opens up new possibilities:
we cross-fertilise,
plant and nurture vulnerable
seedling thoughts.
In space, in peace,
with time and patience we wait to discern
the hour to plant out new
ideas, freed to explore
with new companions fields
of unsuspected fertility.
This poem is dedicated to those Friends who attended a ‘Good Practice in Nominations’ course at Swarthmoor Hall in Cumbria in 2016.
