Status change for QCP

The Quaker Congo Partnership has achieved independent charity status

by Tara Craig 27th February 2015

The Quaker Congo Partnership (QCP) has succeeded in its application for independent charity status. It was previously part of Cambridgeshire Area Meeting.

After six years of existence, and two years’ preparation time, QCP and Cambridgeshire Area Meeting felt it was time for the group to become an official charity. It now operates as Quaker Congo Partnership UK.

The charity partners with local people and groups in the eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Core projects include trauma counselling, hospital care, schooling orphans, women’s microcredit and fresh water.
