Ruth Cadbury welcomes policy review on Heathrow airport
Quaker and Labour MP Ruth Cadbury has welcomed her party’s shift on Heathrow expansion
Ruth Cadbury, the Labour MP for Brentford and Isleworth, has welcomed a possible change in Labour Party policy over plans to expand Heathrow airport.
She is co-chair of the All Party Group at Westminster opposing the expansion of Heathrow and was responding to a report that the Labour Party leadership is considering reviewing its policy and opposing the development of a third runway.
Ruth Cadbury said: ‘Expanding Heathrow doesn’t just mean ever worsening congestion and pollution in West London, and new noise for many more Londoners, but it would require an unacceptable cost to the UK taxpayer for little economic benefit.’
