Ruth Cadbury in Labour reshuffle
Quaker MP joins the shadow international trade team
The Quaker politician Ruth Cadbury featured in Labour leader Kier Starmers’ reshuffle this month, joining the shadow international trade team.
The MP for Brentford and Isleworth tweeted on 4 December: ‘I’m really looking forward to my new role – joining @NickTorfaen and @NiaGriffithMP and @GarethThomasMP as a Shadow International Trade Minister – challenging the Government to show global leadership in trade.’
Days later, Ruth Cadbury threw her backing behind the ‘Small Business Saturday’ in Hounslow, urging the government to scrap the current business rates system ‘and replace it with a new, fairer system that encourages long term investment’.
