Reform Jews back same-sex marriage
The Movement for Reform Judaism gives support to same-sex marriage
Reform Jews have become the largest religious group in Britain to give their support to same-sex marriage – a role previously occupied by Quakers.
The Movement for Reform Judaism represents about a fifth of affiliated Jews in the UK. Same-sex marriage has already been backed by the smaller group Liberal Judaism, along with Quakers, Unitarians and the Metropolitan Community Church.
Reform rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner said that marriage equality will ‘strengthen society and the institution of marriage’.
