Recognition for Bristol Quaker
Marian Liebmann awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list
A Bristol Quaker has been recognised in the New Year Honours list for her work in using therapy to promote social justice.
Marian Liebmann was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for ‘services to social justice through art therapy and mediation in Bristol and overseas’.
She told the Friend: ‘I did think quite hard about whether, as a Quaker, I should accept it, but in the end it’s more about gaining recognition for fields of work than about personal glory.’
