Quakers send postcards for COP26
'Send Boris Johnson a postcard that represents where you live to show the breadth of support for action on climate justice.’
Friends have been taking part in a ‘Make COP Count’ initiative, which involves sending Boris Johnson a postcard supporting the twenty-sixth United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26).
The postcard campaign is also highlighting the G7 summit on 11 June. Both events are ‘crucial’, say organisers.
‘We’re asking the UK government to Make COP Count by championing additional money for the most climate vulnerable countries, to help deal with the climate crisis. Send Boris Johnson a postcard that represents where you live to show the breadth of support for action on climate justice,’ say the campaigners.
The initiative has been organised by Christian Aid. It has also produced some guidance on its website. The postcards have been shared on social media with the hashtags #WishWeWereThere and #G7.
