Quakers in Bohol and Bologna recognised
Two new groups of Friends have been recognised
The Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) recently recognised two new groups of Quakers.
The first is in Bohol, in the Philippines. FWCC granted the group ‘Worship Group’ status. According to the FWCC, this ‘recognises that Friends in Bohol are no longer a loose association of individual Friends, and that they have formed a worshipping community’.
The second group is based in Bologna, Northern Italy. It has been given ‘Recognised Meeting’ status, acknowledging its permanence, and putting it in touch with the world family of Friends in ‘a more tangible way’, said FWCC.
