The Quakers in Criminal Justice (QICJ) group has highlighted the rate of recall for prisoners to UK prisons. The rate of recall currently accounts for one fifth of the prison population, with an unprecedented jump in 2024 of thirty-nine per cent, according to the Prison Reform Trust. Last month the Recall Coalition, supported by QICJ, held a meeting with the Ministry of Justice to discuss ways to reduce this number.
