Video celebrating Quaker women released to mark International Women's Day

The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and the Scottish History Society have launched a video celebrating Quaker women to mark International Women’s Day.
The video ‘Ahead of Their Time’ describes the work of The Edinburgh Ladies’ Emancipation Society, which was one of the leading groups in Scotland to campaign for the abolition of the slave trade.
The video is one in a four-part series in which writer, comedian and broadcaster Susan Morrison shines a light on several Scottish women from the 1700s to 1900s who, ‘against all odds, achieved great things for the many’. The video released on 30 March can be viewed at https://bit.ly/3uyD5OW.
