Quakers and the elections
Friends stood in recent local elections

A number of Quakers stood in the recent elections. Those elected included Carla Denyer of Young Friends General Meeting and Alex Cole-Hamilton of Central Edinburgh Local Meeting.
A Green Party candidate, Carla held her Bristol City Council seat. She represents Clifton Down ward. Alex is a member of the Liberal Democrat Party. He is now member of the Scottish parliament for the Edinburgh Western constituency.
