Quaker values in education
A new book has been published by the Quaker Values in Education group
The Quaker Values in Education group (QVinE) has published a new book featuring chapters from twelve Quaker education specialists.
The book Faith and Experience in Education: essays from Quaker Perspectives contains essays from Quakers who have worked in state schools. It links their experience with their Quaker testimonies.
David Day, of QVinE, told the Friend: ‘We believe the new book to be a major work and has the potential to make a significant contribution to discussion of schooling, values and Quaker viewpoints…
‘The twelve writers are variously well known nationally or in their field and their perspectives are wide ranging – from face-to-face in the classroom right up to curriculum planning, at all ages.’
The book will be launched at Britain Yearly Meeting on 6 May in the Margaret Fell Room, where some of the twelve contributors will speak.
