Quaker Tapestry Museum retains national award
The Quaker Tapestry Museum called a 'Hidden Gem'
The Quaker Tapestry Museum in Kendal has retained its ‘Hidden Gem’ classification awarded by the tourist board for England. The accolade recognises outstanding attractions that go ‘the extra mile’ to create an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Bridget Guest, the museum’s manager, said: ‘We first gained this recognition in 2014 when the award was brand new.
Visit England review their attractions every two years so this is the second time we have gained it. It is a credit to the great team of staff and volunteers who work so hard, and to such high standards.’
Forty panels are permanently on display alongside other exhibitions, supported by audio guides, interactive displays and films. The museum also runs embroidery workshops.
