Quaker Tapestry Museum raises roof funds
Encouraging response to renovation appeal
The Quaker Tapestry Museum has raised over two-thirds of the estimated £250,000 needed to restore its roof. The funding has been sourced from local Quaker funds, grants and donations. This includes the ‘Revive, Survive and Thrive’ appeal, which general manager at the museum Bridget Guest said has had a ‘most encouraging response’.
‘Fundraising is currently focusing on the Roof Appeal, hoping to undertake the delayed works this autumn,’ she wrote in the Quakers in Yorkshire newsletter.
‘One of those once in a century slating and leadwork jobs… of which the cost of scaffolding alone is about £50,000.’
