Friends offered support to Isa Alaali at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court

by Tara Craig 19th August 2016

Friends were among a group of people who came to support Bahraini activist Isa Alaali at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 9 August.

Isa Alaali was arrested during a protest at the Science Museum in London on 11 July. Together with a number of activists, including several Friends, he had been protesting at the museum’s involvement with the Farnborough International Airshow 2016 and its lesser known arms fair.  He was the only protester to be arrested, despite the presence of a number of British people taking part in the activity, and was accused of wilfully obstructing a public highway.  The case was adjourned for a trial at the City of London courthouse on 4 November and Isa Alaali granted unconditional bail.
