Resident Friend appointed at Charney

Quaker presence at Charney

Resident Friend appointed at Charney

by Symon Hill 1st February 2013

A resident Friend/warden has recently been appointed at the Charney Manor Quaker Conference and Retreat Centre.

Andrew Nash will be assisting with and running courses for Quakers, enquirers and attenders and will help to maintain the Quaker ethos at Charney. He will also support non-Quaker groups using the popular centre in Oxfordshire.

Elders and overseers will be at Charney for a course over the weekend of 14 to 16 May.

Charney Manor, which dates back to the thirteenth century, receives no financial support from any organisation, Quaker or non-Quaker, other than an annual grant from the Gillett family. They donated the Manor and continue to be involved in seeing that it is well maintained.
