Quaker poster at Epping exhibition
'We agreed to donate one of the classic Quaker posters: “Our greed and our fear are destroying our future.”'
Epping Quakers are contributing artwork to a new exhibition launched during InterFaith Week.
The ‘Faiths in the Forest’ exhibition runs at Epping Forest District Museum until 14 February 2022.
Alan Fricker from Epping Meeting told the Friend: ‘The district museum got in touch and asked us if we would be happy to lend or donate something to them for it. We discussed it at Local Meeting and agreed to donate one of the classic Quaker posters series.
[It says]: “Our greed and our fear are destroying our future.” We felt it had a good contemporary note.’
The exhibition features items from different faith groups from across the district, chosen to reflect key attributes of their practice and community. Epping Quakers have loaned some exhibits, as well as BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chigwell; Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Duldzin Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre. They are on display at the Core Gallery, Epping Forest District Museum, Waltham Abbey
