Quaker philanthropist commemorated on stamp

The chocolate manufacturer Joseph Rowntree is among six humanitarians commemorated on special stamps issued on 15 March 2016.

The other stamps in the British Humanitarians range commemorate Nicholas Winton, Sue Ryder, food security expert John Boyd Orr, Eglantyne Jebb, who founded the precursor to the Save the Children Fund, and Josephine Butler.

The stamps are monochrome portraits.
