Quaker MEP calls for ‘People’s Vote’

Molly Scott Cato, Green MEP and Quaker, has called for a ‘People’s Vote’ on the final Brexit deal

Molly Scott Cato, Green MEP and Quaker, has called for a ‘People’s Vote’ on the final Brexit deal between the UK and the EU.

The South West of England and Gibraltar’s Green MEP, who claims that Brexit no longer has any legitimacy, delivered the robust message in Exeter on 24 July when she gave a presentation at the Exeter Community Centre in St David’s Hill.

Molly Scott Cato, who is a member of Stroud Meeting, said about the call: ‘With revelations about criminal behaviour by the Leave campaign, manipulation of voters through social media, unworkable Brexit plans from the government and now cabinet resignations and a government in meltdown, it is clear the EU referendum result has no legitimacy.’

She added: ‘We must push for a People’s Vote on the final deal between the EU and UK – with an option of exiting from Brexit and remaining in the EU.’

Molly Scott Cato has also stepped up her campaign with the launch on 23 July of a website, ‘The Brexit Syndicate’, revealing the ‘murky network of powerful and secretive organisations’ that she says are behind Brexit.
