A Friend has spoken about Quakers and peacemaking on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Thought for the Day’.

Professor Eleanor Nesbitt, from Coventry Meeting and the University of Warwick, spoke on 19 July about the fact that the city is to be the UK City of Culture 2021. She stressed the importance of welcoming refugees and asylum seekers, particularly as Coventry is a ‘City of Sanctuary’.

Eleanor Nesbitt, who gave the Swarthmore Lecture in 2003, is a member of the British Association for the Study of Religions, and a founder member of the Punjab Research Group. (See Thought for the Week: Being a peacemaker.)
