New project launched by Quaker Concern for Animals and the Quakers and Business Group

Quaker Concern for Animals has teamed up with Quakers and Business Group to launch a new project called Quaker Food Choice.

The project was initiated by Quaker Concern for Animals member Edna Mathieson and the campaign has a straightforward message: that we should have choice when it comes to the food we buy at Quaker facilities and it ‘should include accommodating vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters’.

The campaign suggests that in all Quaker facilities there is always a vegetarian and/or vegan choice; that the source of any food offered contains ingredients which cause the least hurt to animals and people; and that animals killed for our preference (not need or benefit) have been killed in an abattoir that has continual closed circuit television.
