Quaker delivers prestigious sermon at Cambridge University
Janet Scott delivered a prestigious sermon on 1 February
Janet Scott made the Quaker faith a major theme of the sermon which she delivered in Great St Mary’s, ‘the university church’, Cambridge, on Sunday 1 February.
It is a prestigious honour to be invited to deliver the annual ‘University Sermon’ and Janet chose the subject ‘Education for Good News’ to mirror the fact that 1 February 2015 was designated ‘Education Sunday’ by Churches Together in England.
Janet is well known for her leading role, as a representative of the Religious Society of Friends, in ecumenical affairs in Britain and for her concern for interfaith issues.
She was formerly head of religious studies and director of studies in religious studies and education at Homerton College.
Janet delivered the 1980 Swarthmore Lecture to London (now Britain) Yearly Meeting. It was later published as What canst thou say? Towards a Quaker Theology.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to read a transcript of Janet’s sermon?

Rather special poems this week - ‘Hunting the Higgs’ and ‘just practising’.
The article on the Ukraine is very timely.
