The Quaker Finance Trust has been registered with Companies House

by Symon Hill 25th January 2013

A group of Friends who aim to set up a Quaker bank have formally registered their business with Companies House. It is called the Quaker Finance Trust.

The company’s founders say they will operate the bank on strict ethical principles. Rather than charging interest, they plan to follow a similar practice to Islamic banks and share profits generated by investments.

‘We are one step closer to the Quaker bank,’ said Elizabeth Redfern, co-clerk of the Quakers & Business Group, whose members came up with the idea.
