A Quaker artist’s work will start the new year at sea, on board a cruise ship bound for Norway.

Anne McNeill-Pulati, from Winchmore Hill Meeting, is one of four artists chosen to have their artwork displayed on the Saga cruise ship ‘Spirit of Discovery’. The theme for the group show is ‘Mythical Landscapes’. Having set sail in October 2023, it will be on six different journeys for three months.

‘The curator [of the exhibition] was invited to my show in July 2023,’ Anne McNeill-Pulati told the Friend. ‘He asked me then if I would like to participate. The paintings were picked up in October by Saga and taken to Liverpool Docks where the curator was there to hang the show. The tours go up to Norway and the arctic on two-week cruises.’

For the last four decades, Anne’s attention to ‘what lies beneath the surface of the mind’ connects with her Quaker faith, understanding of leadings, and the value of prayer.

‘Through the act of creativity, I enter a process which delivers something that usually surprises me and also is not consciously designed. In this process, I receive insights and a fulfilment which I only have by entering this activity.’

Anne McNeill-Pulati also has an exhibition at the Hanging Around gallery in Enfleld this month. The exhibition includes spiritual and figuratively-themed artwork.
