Quaker Activist Gathering
Friends gathered in London for a day of inspiration and contemplation
Friends from all over the UK came together for a Quaker Activist Gathering at Friends House, London, for a day of inspiration and contemplation.
Teresa Parker, crime community and justice programme manager at Quaker Peace & Social Witness, opened the day on 2 November with her remark: ‘Our history, our humanity and our faith is in this room.’
The day included a talk by Lyndsay Burtonshaw, from Turning the Tide, who asked the room: ‘What is the light that you’re letting in at the moment – what is the hope that’s driving you?’
Anya Nanning Ramamurthy told the Friend she came away feeling inspired. ‘It was a really great variety of workshops – from strategy to mental wellbeing and keeping the hope going. It was great to meet so many Quakers.’
