QUAKER activist Sam Walton and Dan Woodhouse, a Methodist minister, answered bail on 27 April following their arrest on 29 January for entering BAE Systems’ Warton site with the aim of disarming warplanes bound for Saudi Arabia.

They answered bail at Blackpool police station and were both charged with two counts of criminal damage under £5,000 to the perimeter fence and the hanger door.

They were bailed and ordered to attend magistrates court in Blackpool on 10 July for a plea hearing.

Sam Walton said: ‘We are grateful for the support, thoughts and prayers sent our way.’

He urged Friends to support the Campaign Against Arms Trade’s efforts to stop the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia. ‘At the moment the best way to support us is to take action yourself in whatever way is appropriate for you.’
