Quaker Social Action (QSA) has announced that its ‘Step By Step’ walk around London’s ‘Capital Ring’ has raised more than £4,000 so far for people struggling with poverty.

Giles Robinson, communications officer of QSA, described the walks as ‘wonderful’.

Judith Moran, director of QSA, told the Friend: ‘Already we’ve seen wonderful sights, got over a third of a way towards our fundraising target, but, more than that, connected with Friends who are concerned and curious about exactly the issues we are. The conversations I’ve had already will stay with me for a very long time.’

Three walks have taken place this year, including ‘step one’, from Olympic Park to Woolwich on 7 September, ‘step two’, from Woolwich to Falconwood on 7 October, and ‘step three’ from Falconwood to New Beckenham on 7 November.

The QSA capital ring walk is split into ten distinct walks, each exploring a different part of London. They take around four to six hours.
