Quaker Social Action (QSA)’s Homestore project has been nominated for an Aviva Community Fund award.

The fund will be awarded to an organisation that has made a positive difference to its community. The winner is chosen by a combination of public votes and a judging panel. It is worth £25,000, which would cover the cost of a driver for a year, a QSA representative told the Friend.

Homestore was established twenty-five years ago. It sells donated, affordable furniture and new white goods to low income East London residents. More than 27,000 families have benefited from the charity.
