QSA launches funeral poverty report

Quaker Social Action launched a new funeral poverty report this week

Quaker Social Action (QSA) launched a new funeral poverty report at Friends House in London this week, looking back on the work of QSA and setting out future plans. The event, ‘Speaking truth to power: tackling the UK’s funeral poverty crisis’, featured a talk from QSA’s director Judith Moran, who shared QSA’s plans for continuing to influence government policy and industry practice. There was also a talk from Paul Hodgson, from insurance company Royal London, on the rise of funeral poverty, while Claire Brandon, manager of QSA’s Down to Earth project, shared her experiences of running the only UK-wide funeral poverty helpline.
