QPSW introduces latest peaceworkers
Six new peaceworkers have been revealed
Quaker Peace & Social Witness (QPSW) has revealed the identities of its six new peaceworkers.
The six will work within peace organisations for a year, helping at local, regional and international level, explained Steve Whiting of QPSW. He said: ‘The peaceworkers are paid and gain experience to help them build a career in the field of peace. The idea is to strengthen relations in the peace movement.’
The new peaceworkers include three who will work at the Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) in Geneva. Cat Baker will be human rights and refugees programme assistant, Cassie Moll will be the peacebuilding and climate change programme assistant, and Nora Meier will be the food and sustainability programme assistant.
The others are Philip Wood, Hannah Larn and Sarah Robinson. Philip will work with Scientists for Global Responsibility, Hannah with the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, and Sarah with War Resisters’ International and Campaign Against Arms Trade.
