Inflammatory language on migrants could boost tensions in our communities

Quaker Asylum and Refugee Network (QARN) has backed a robust response to Keir Starmer’s controversial speech on migrants last month. The comments from the prime minister – in which he warned of the UK becoming an ‘island of strangers’ – came during a press conference launching a white paper on immigration on 12 May.
