The Friend recently reported statements made by some candidates who are taking part in the forthcoming general election (10 April). They included the following comments from six candidates representing five parties:

‘…safeguarding the NHS, highlighting rural poverty and low wages and safeguarding the environment.’

‘…[stop] fracking, moving UK’s foreign policy “from one of confrontation to cooperation”, and working to close the gap between the rich and poor.’
