Prisons Week 2012, which runs between 18 and 24 November, will be highlighting important issues of concern to prisoners in all parts of Britain.
The theme of Prisons Week 2012 is ‘Taking the Path of Life’. The number of people in prison in Britain is now more than 88,000.
Churches and faith groups have organised a range of events to highlight key issues relating to the concerns of prisoners.
Prisons Week also seeks to raise awareness of the need for prayer. The BBC One programme Songs of Praise, on Sunday 18 November, was devoted to issues relating to prisons. It is available on BBC iPlayer.
