Bull Street Meeting House now offers an Electric Vehicle Charging Station

by The Friend Newsdesk 15th February 2013

Friends at Bull Street Meeting House in Birmingham are getting into gear for a low carbon future.

The Priory Rooms, which is the conference centre section of Bull Street Meeting House, is part of an exciting new development that aims to reduce the carbon footprint of people in the city.

The venue, in a new initiative, has invested in an Electric Vehicle Charging Station. The popular city centre venue is also offering delegates a ‘free fill up’ as a reward for investing in environmentally friendly electric vehicles.

The charging points were provided by a grant from the ‘Zero Carbon World’ project, which is offering them to hotels and leisure complexes. This is the first Free Zero Carbon World charging point in Birmingham.

At the launch Kevin Cummins, from Birmingham City Council’s Sustainability, Transportation & Partnerships Department, praised The Priory Rooms’ contribution to reducing Birmingham’s carbon emissions.

Friends at Bull Street wonder if this is a world first – the first vehicle charging point at any Quaker Meeting house?
