Oxford Friends marked Interfaith Week by planting trees with members of other faith groups.

Quakers worked alongside members of the Jewish, Bahai and Pagan communities.

The fifteen volunteers planted some 100 trees in Oxford’s Cumnor Hill before continuing discussions over cake.

The tree planting took place on Mitzvah Day, an annual, Jewish-led, day of social action. It was also part of Oxford Council of Faith’s interfaith events programme, participant Elisabeth Salisbury told the Friend. She added that fewer Friends than usual took part because this year’s event coincided with a Quaker Memorial Meeting.
